Julianne Henry, Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, flute
Holding degrees from both Mercer University and Clayton State University, Julianne Henry began learning flute at age 10. Her adult flute study began with Catherine Bull, principal flutist of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, then for the past ten years with Christina Smith, principal flutist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. She has studied in workshops with John Barcelona, Patricia George, Keith Underwood, and Tadeu Coelho. From 2008-2012, Ms. Henry served on the faculty of Gordon State College in Barnesville, GA as the flute instructor and director of the Wind and Strings Ensemble. After relocating to South Carolina in 2012, she served briefly as principal flute for the Fountain Inn Symphony Orchestra (2013). Her professional association affiliations include the South Carolina Flute Society and Greenville Music Teachers Association. In addition to her teaching in her private studio, she performs as a freelance musician and conducts educational music programs in the public schools.
All State Bands/District Honor Bands have included Ms. Henry's students; many have occupied first and second chairs.
